Waters offers testing materials and financial support to National Forum for Black Public Administrators.
DALLAS — The Waters Consulting Group Inc., a leader in compensation consulting and executive recruiting for public-sector organizations, has reaffirmed its support of two programs offered through the National Forum for Black Public Administrators. Waters Consulting Group President Rollie Waters recently traveled to the group’s annual conference to address graduates of a mentoring program and present a contribution to an educational fund.
The Executive Leadership Institute of the National Forum for Black Public Administrators is a mentoring program for younger public-sector executives. According to the NFBPA, “The Executive Leadership Institute (ELI) was established in 1987 as a program dedicated to grooming African American managers for the rigors of executive positions in public service organizations.”
The group promises, “Applicants will be evaluated in the following areas: education, professional experience, leadership experience, social responsibility and commitment, and writing/analytical ability. Participants in the Executive Leadership Institute attend training sessions scheduled over an eight-month period, starting in September of each year and typically ending in April.”
This year’s ELI graduation was held in Atlanta as part of Forum 2013, the NFBPA’s annual gathering. In addressing the graduates, Rollie Waters told them that he and his company would continue to support the ELI program. A video of his remarks, courtesy of Audio Visual CO-Operative, includes an introduction by Jelynne Burley. Waters presented to Burley a second contribution to the Ulysses G. Ford III Educational Fund. Ford was a longtime member of the NFBPA who succumbed to cancer in 2012. The fund is a celebration of his life.
“We are in the business of executive recruitment, and that means getting to know as many qualified, ambitious professionals as possible,” Waters said later. “That’s partly why we continue to support ELI with access to our CareerNavigator offering. The other part is that it’s so worthwhile.”
CareerNavigator was developed by a team of industrial psychologists and is based on the Waters Consulting Group’s more than 35 years of experience and research, working with candidates and organizations in the public and private sectors. CareerNavigator offers the unparalleled ability to match a candidate’s leadership characteristics and management styles with your organization’s unique cultural “personality,” resulting in a better long-term fit between candidates and your organization.
Waters also made a second contribution to the Ulysses G. Ford III Educational Fund. Ford was a longtime member of the NFBPA, who succumbed to cancer in 2012. The fund is a celebration of his life.
