Calculating and sustaining total compensation cost (direct pay and benefits) is a time-consuming process for local governments, as they’re faced with the task of balancing wage and benefit liabilities with the financial resources of the organization.

THE SOLUTION

CompensationNavigator™, a web-based software with support services from the HR professionals at Waters & Company, provides immediate, accurate calculations that can be used during the budget process and during union negotiations. CompensationNavigator allows users to create scenarios as part of a “what-if” analysis by selecting individual positions, or all job titles, and adjusting the corresponding total compensation elements, including holiday hours, sick leave, personal hours, vacation, longevity pay, and base salary increases. CompensationNavigator then calculates in real time the cost impact of these adjustments, reporting results both as a numerical value and a percentage for consideration. Because these calculations are immediate, the time spent in budget impact discussions and “at the bargaining table” is reduced, saving your organization time, money, and the potential for error.
